Getting started

Plumeo improves any text, in any application, with a single keyboard shortcut. No copy-pasting into a separate window. Select your text where you're already writing, press the shortcut, and Plumeo replaces or offers alternatives in place.

1. Download & install

Grab the installer for your platform:

Plumeo is in private beta and its installers aren't code-signed yet, so your operating system will flag the first launch as coming from an unidentified developer. This is expected: trusting the app is a one-time step.

  • macOS: you'll see a message like “can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.” Click OK, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the note about Plumeo, and click Open Anyway (confirm with your password or Touch ID in the dialog that follows).
  • Windows: if SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.

2. Grant the Accessibility permission (macOS only)

Plumeo reads and replaces the text you've selected in whichever app is active. That requires the macOS Accessibility permission (Windows needs no equivalent step):

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  2. Find Plumeo in the list and enable it.

Plumeo only reads the text you explicitly select when you press its shortcut. It never reads your screen in the background. See the privacy policy for details.

3. Your first enhancement

  1. Select some text in any app: an email, a document, a chat message.
  2. Press the default shortcut, ⌘ + Shift + E on macOS or Ctrl + Shift + E on Windows.
  3. Review the result, then replace the original or copy it to your clipboard.
